First results on quenched QCD with domain-wall fermions from CP-PACS
Abstract: We report on our first results on domain wall fermions applied to quenched QCD. Realistic QCD simulations with domain wall fermions require larger lattice spacings than those with 4-dimensional actions to compensate the increased amount of computations. Simulations are carried out to explore this possibility on a lattice with $a^{-1} \simeq 1$ GeV. The existence of chiral zero mode is discussed for both the plaquette and the renormalization-group improved gauge actions through a systematic scan of the parameter space spanned by domain wall height, lattice size in the 5th dimension and physical quark mass.
