Casimir Scaling vs. Flux Counting
Abstract: We present results on potentials between static sources in the eight lowest dimensional representations of SU(3) gauge theory. The simulation has been performed on anisotropic lattices with an anisotropy $a_s\approx 4a_t$ and lattice spacings $a_s$ inbetween 0.1 and 0.2 fm. The results for the intermediate range, prior to string braeking, indicate additivity of the fundamental flux tubes contained within the higher dimensional representations, rather than a scaling with the ratio of Casimir charges, which has been widely assumed, previously.
