Vortex properties and interactions at the electroweak crossover

Abstract: Correlation functions of the Z--vortices with gauge and Higgs field operators as well as with various vortex operators are studied in the crossover region (near a Higgs mass of 100 GeV) of the 3D SU(2) Higgs model above and below the percolation transition. This model corresponds to the dimensionally reduced Electroweak Model at finite temperature. The quantum vortex profiles and various inverse correlation lengths are obtained. The observed vortex interactions suggest a behaviour analogous to a type II superconductor.
