Low energy physics from the QCD Schroedinger functional
Abstract: It is explained how masses and matrix elements can be computed in lattice QCD using Schr\"odinger functional boundary conditions. Numerical simulations in the quenched approximation demonstrate that good precision can be achieved. Particularly for the computation of matrix elements such as the pseudoscalar decay constant, the Schr\"odinger functional technique turns out to be more efficient than standard methods. We present results on $r_0F_K$ and $r_0m_{K^*}$ in the $O(a)$ improved theory, obtained on lattices with resolutions from 0.1 fm to 0.05 fm, and their extrapolation to the continuum limit.
