Thursday July 1st, 17.40 - 18.00, Pacinotti Room

Perturbative and Nonperturbative Corrections to $B\to D^{(*)}l\nu$

Abstract: In practical calculations of heavy quarks on the lattice, the quark masses are not near the asymptotic regime $m_Qa\to 0$. This complicates the analysis of numerical data from lattice QCD. In this talk I apply the formalism of the heavy-quark effective theory to organize both the nonperturbative $1/m_Q^n$ contributions to physical amplitudes and the radiative corrections. As an example, the form factors of the semileptonic decays $B\to D^{(*)}l\nu$ are presented in some detail.
