High temperature spontaneous CP-violation in two Higgs doublet models and the MSSM
Abstract: In two Higgs doublet models such as the MSSM, it is in principle possible that CP is violated spontaneously. If this happens at finite temperatures close to the electroweak phase transition, the phenomenon could have important implications for baryogenesis. We describe the first lattice study of the issue, carried out in the framework of a dimensionally reduced 3d effective field theory. We discuss our preliminary results, and compare the non-perturbative parameter regime found with that allowed by the MSSM.
