Reconstructing the conformal mode in simplicial gravity
Abstract: We show that it is possible to recover a lattice conformal mode from simulations of 2d dynamical triangulations coupled to matter. Furthermore, we demonstrate that this lattice conformal mode is distributed according to the continuum Liouville action with the correct central charge. Our work confirms, in a very explicit way, that the sum over random geometries samples correctly the space of physically distinct 2d metrics. We show that this remains true even for central charges {\it greater} than unity.
