Potential between external monopole and antimonopole in SU(2) lattice gluodynamics
Abstract: We present a high statistic study of the free energy of a monopole-antimonopole pair in pure SU(2) theory as a function of temperature. We found a screened behavior in both the confined and the deconfined phase, as opposed to a Coulombic behavior in the classical theory. The mass of the object responsible for the screening we find to be well within the known glueball-spectrum.
