Monte Carlo Lattice Hamiltonian

Abstract: We suggest how to construct via Monte Carlo a lattice Hamiltonian from a given action. This Hamiltonian aims to describe physics in the low energy regime of the spectrum. As a test we compute the low-lying energy spectrum and wave functions of the harmonic oscillator as well as thermodynamical observables like average energy and specific heat in quantum mechanics for the free system and the harmonic oscillator. We show that the methods works also for other local potentials.
