Gauge-invariant signals for the confinement mechanism?
Abstract: Considerable progress has been made in locating the physical variables responsible for quark confinement with the use of gauge-fixed observables. This raises the question whether gauge-invariant signals for this mechanism can be found. We concentrate on centre vortices in SU(2) and try to make a start in this direction by seeking out correlations and correspondences.
