the registration fee.
Programme
A registration desk will be open at the Palazzo dei Congressi from
midday until 19.30 on Monday June 28. There will be a welcoming
reception on the evening of Monday June 28. The meeting will begin on
Tuesday morning, June 29, at the Palazzo dei Congressi. There will be
plenary talks, parallel sessions of contributed papers (20 minutes in
length including questions), and a poster session on Thursday
evening. Equipment for video demonstrations will be available (for
information on formats, send e-mail to
lat99@mailbox.difi.unipi.it
).
A concert is planned inside the Cathedral (Duomo) of Pisa on Tuesday
evening. On Wednesday there will be an excursion to the countryside of
Tuscany, with a visit to Siena and the medieval town of San
Gimignano. A box lunch will be provided. The conference banquet will
take place on Friday evening.
The last conference session will be a plenary session finishing at
around 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, July 3.
Posters and Talks
Each participant may submit an abstract for a talk or
a poster. Abstracts should be submitted no later than April
29. The poster session has proved a successful alternative to
parallel talks at recent meetings and we wish to maintain this. We
reserve the right to move parallel talks into the poster session if
the need arises. In particular, collaborations with a large number of
contributions may be asked to present a number of these contributions
as posters. We will not require a move from parallel to
poster sessions (or vice versa) based solely on some judgement of the
intrinsic interest of the contribution, but may do so with an eye to
keeping balance in subject matter between parallel and poster
sessions.
Abstracts
Abstracts are due by April 29, 1999. We prefer you to
submit abstracts using our Abstract Submission
Form, but you may submit them by sending email to
lat99@mailbox.difi.unipi.it
. Abstracts may also be
sent by regular mail to the conference address. Abstracts need not be
submitted at the same time as conference registration information but
please note that the deadline is the same.
